FILTERING PEPTIDES FOR SAFER STERILITY

My opinion is that it's absolutely necessary to use the filtering process with grey market peptides for your research. Though most grey market peptides test at 99% purity, this doesn't guarantee absolute sterility. Just like you wash your fruit and veg from the supermarket, you should likewise filter your peptides for extra peace of mind, so there's no bumps in the road with your research project.

I will provide some links to helpful video tutorials on how to filter. Peptide Polly can provide a one-use kit for this filtering process in your order containing all the below items.

WHAT SHOULD A FILTERING KIT CONTAIN?

  • 1x 3ml sterile glass vial or 3ml sterile glass pen cartridge

  • 1x 3ml luer lock syringe with needle (for drawing up BAC water & reconstituted peptide)

  • 2x 25mm sterile hypodermic needles (one for venting & one for dispersing filtered peptide)

  • 1x 0.22um 13mm or 4mm sterile PES syringe filter

  • 4x 70% isopropyl alcohol swabs

Of course always thoroughly wash your hands before (and wear gloves if you like) and perform your filtering process on a sterilised surface. It's good to have a bottle of 70-100% isopropyl alcohol for disinfecting the surface you work on.

Here's a video that helped me out when I began filtering in my own research.

Happy researching!
